I have just put together the following rig for the Nor'easters that we are getting here in Sydney at the moment.
Total luff height for the main is 35cm, the "C" rig from RYSA is 52cm, the fat head on the main is inspired by one of our German MM cousins Thomas, see link below.

Hi Micro M,
As i do every saturday morning i take my MMII out for a sail, this last saturday brought in a strong southerly, i was wondering how you rig held up? My MMII was fairly over powered especially when the gusts hit, but was fairly competent. Where would i be able to purchase one of these rigs, as it will come in handy as i only sail in the harbour.

Hi James,
The rig is made of MM parts that I sourced from Radio Yacht supplies in Qld. They are all the same parts as the factory kit just with a cut down mast. Dimensions are as follows: Mainsail luff 340mm, foot 210mm (Headboard length, top of main 40mm). Jib luff 295mm, foot 195mm.
We had difficulty sailing the MM in strong Sydney Nor easters so tried this rig. It was ok but we found the boats too smal & lightl in the rough water & high winds. They are best in lakes or ponds.
Thanks,
Paul. Add a little "MAGIC" to your life Graeme Turk AUS46
